Top Five Movie Villains of All Time (in my opinion)

5) Pennywise - IT

Pennywise the clown is pure nightmare fuel, and I am sure has cost many kids hours of precious sleep. This dastardly clown is intent on harming children which makes his especially evil

4) Freddy Krueger - A Nightmare on Elm Streat series

While Freddy and Jason are both ruthless killers, Freedy is especially heinous in the fact that, like Pennywise, he targets children. I saw the first Nightmare on Elm Street at 9 years old and did not sleep for days!

3) Hans Gruber - Die Hard

While the aforementioned entries on this list are supernatural, Hans is a grounded and realistic portrait of a true sociopath and terrorist. I truly enjoyed watching him fall 30 stories at the end of Die Hard (whoops....spoiler alert!)

2) Darth Vader - Star Wars series

As Curly from the Three Stooges might say, Vader is a "victim of soicumstance" [sic]. Poor Anakin Skywalker meant well but fell under the spell of The Emperor and became the most feared entity in the galaxy

1) Norman Bates - Psycho

Well at least he loves his mother, right?! Norman is another example of a creepy sociopath that is scary because it is plausible that your next-door neighbor might be Norman Bates-esque! That's what's so scary about it....the realism.
